1000 GUINEAS 1836

The 23rd winner of the 1000 Guineas, held on Thursday 21st April 1836 over the Ditch Mile, was Destiny (6/4 fav), a chestnut filly by Sultan out of Fanny Davies, owned by Mr Thomas Houldsworth, who won cleverly by a neck. A field of 7 runners contested the race which was worth £1850 (Equivalent to £214,900 in 2017)
